The Work Environment Council (WEC) had no trouble choosing Lynne Roberts-Jachim, RN for a DAISY award. Lynne was the on-call endoscopy nurse who assisted with an emergency case on a Saturday night. The patient and his wife had come in an ambulance, once the patient was admitted and settled into H2, the wife didn't have a way home. Lynne couldn't imagine the patient's elderly wife having to take a cab, so she drove her home. The patient wrote in her thank you note, "You are an angel! You really came to the rescue of a very tired old lady." Lynne was nominated by Dr. Webster and two H2 nurses as well as receiving a thank-you letter from the patient's wife. Lynne's initial reaction at the DAISY ceremony was "Who, Me??" followed by, "I'm deeply, deeply moved."
