Lynnore Johns, RN, MSN, RNC-NIC, NE-BC

Lynnore has dedicated many years of service to Rady Children's Health, and our NICU department—especially the Satellite NICUs—has greatly benefited from her extraordinary leadership.

Lynnore is a compassionate leader who guides people toward a shared vision with integrity and empathy. She empowers NICU staff and leaders to develop their strengths by fostering trust, encouraging growth, and creating an environment where people can succeed. She has built strong relationships that drive positive change and inspire resilience throughout our organization.

I truly appreciate Lynnore for sharing her vast knowledge and experience. She has given me the independence to grow as a leader while always providing the guidance I needed to lead with objectivity, compassion, and confidence.

I am especially grateful for the kindness and consideration Lynnore extends to me, both professionally and personally. As I continue to balance the demands of leadership with life outside of work, Lynnore has thoughtfully encouraged me to care for my own well-being while navigating personal challenges. Whenever I have faced situations I had never experienced as a leader, her willingness to help, listen, and provide thoughtful guidance has been invaluable.

One of the many examples of Lynnore's exceptional leadership was the transition of our NICU at Palomar back to a Rady Children's NICU. While Lynnore had experienced numerous transitions as a NICU Satellite Manager, this was my first. It was an enormous undertaking with countless moving parts.

Throughout the transition, Lynnore approached each day and each task with purpose, always keeping the needs of our staff, patients, families, and the Rady organization at the forefront of every decision. She had an incredible ability to communicate both the urgency of the work and the importance of supporting our staff throughout the process.

There were many times when I didn't know where to turn for help or how to move forward. Before I even had to ask, Lynnore would offer assistance or willingly take responsibility for whatever needed to be accomplished. Her dedication, partnership, and unwavering support made an enormous difference, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside her.

Lynnore continually supports every Satellite NICU and every NICU team by serving as an inspiration and mentor to both leaders and staff. Through her leadership, she empowers all of us to continually strive for excellence in the care we provide to our patients, their families, and the communities we serve.

We are incredibly fortunate to work with Lynnore and to have her as a member of our NICU leadership team. Her integrity, compassion, and commitment to excellence make her exceptionally deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
