Lynsie was my preceptor during my final role transition clinical for my nursing degree. She made such a huge impact on me as a future nurse that I will never forget. I will always reference the skills she taught me on how to be an amazing nurse for the entirety of my nursing career. As most, I came into role transition a nervous wreck, sweaty hands and all. Lynsie quickly made me feel more comfortable and confident in my abilities as a future nurse. She showed me how to manage my time, perform skills correctly and above all, she showed me what it means to show compassion and care to every patient we encounter.
Lynsie demonstrated extensive teamwork on the unit with fellow nurses by always offering her help, patient centered care by getting to know each patients individual story from their point of view, and an overall positive attitude towards teaching a future nurse. I feel she deserves this award because she is a fabulous nurse and taught me things about nursing that I will carry with me forever. She made my role transition experience so much more than I had ever expected. She is simply astonishing and forever my nursing mentor!
