Lynsie is there to offer a shoulder to cry on during your toughest shift, and she is there to celebrate with when you accomplish something new.
Lynsie is not only an incredibly competent and caring nurse, but she cares for her floor nurses in the same loving way she cares for her patients. She is always there in the blink of an eye to offer her assistance and advice; this unit truly would not be the same without her. Whether it's responding to a code in the OR or simply grabbing extra supplies, she never fails to be there in the moments you need her most. Lynsie is there to offer a shoulder to cry on during your toughest shift, and she is there to celebrate with when you accomplish something new.
***
When I first started on this unit, Lynsie went out of her way to check in on me and make me feel welcome even though we didn't work the same shift (she works days, and I work nights). That is something I will never forget and greatly appreciate.
***
Since I've known her, she has been the pillar of strength for our unit, carrying herself with grace. We affectionately tease her with the nickname "the black cloud of the unit" because her presence often brings hectic days – it's not uncommon for us to handle 3-6 admissions or face emergencies. Despite the chaos, she remains calm and patient, always assisting the staff on the unit.
She advocates for the team, tirelessly fighting for both the staff and our tiny yet mighty premature babies. Her compassion extends to all the parents in the unit, earning her their love and respect. During my first code in the NICU, she was there for me and the entire team every step of the way.
Despite being our "black cloud," she is, in reality, the angel who illuminates the path for all of us.
