What defines a complete nurse? It is a person who is caring, skilled, compassionate, and understanding. That person is Pam, who for the last 15 months has taken care of my sister, who suffered a massive stroke, leaving her with aphasia that at times affects her speech. My family worried that our sister would not adapt to her new home. Our views changed after meeting with Pam and discussing our sister's condition and needs. Pam asked questions and took down detailed notes, learning everything about our sister's condition, clearly showing what a professional nurse does. We then knew that our sister would feel safe and cared for. One of many things that stands out is when my sister was frustrated because Pam could not understand what she was trying to say to her. Pam was able to figure it out and informed us of the incident. Just another skill of hers to solve problems. She never stops working and always has a smile on her face. What sets Pam apart from others is that she is not only a dedicated and skilled nurse, but also the wonderful way she demonstrates leadership skills.
