Her positive attitude and demeanor were so refreshing.
My husband was a patient for a week at Cascade Valley Hospital. He was admitted with Diverticulitis, and we both were scared. We didn’t know what to expect, how this was going to work, and how we were going to proceed. Mabel was there for us throughout the entire process. Her positive attitude and demeanor were so refreshing. We could actually see her smile thru her mask (especially during these Covid times). She helped us understand what was going on, and she explained the situation multiple times until we grasped what was going on. She made my husband as comfortable as she could, which was the most important to me. I looked forward to seeing Mabel when I came to the hospital each day to train and learn how to care for my husband post-surgery. Mabel quickly became a close friend to us. Even though we social distanced as much as we could, I knew she cared for me as much as for "T." Her wealth of knowledge is self-evident when we had to switch rooms due to being diagnosed with C.Diff. The room was not set up conveniently; she was able to switch his arm tubes to the other side, so he had maximum comfort. Mabel’s infectious attitude is what made our stay at Cascade Valley Hospital a pleasant one. Her ability to go above and beyond to help comfort not only her patient but his family member as well is certainly going above the call of duty.
