June 2016 Honoree
mac arthur estabillo, RN
When worst comes to worst or in times that we really get busy with the patients we're caring for, we can at times become a little tetchy instead of showing the best of us. I do believe this is a normal reaction when we're facing challenges, difficulties or stressors whether personally or professionally. What's extraordinary is maintaining your composure amidst the pictured scenario. One person who does this time after time in our 103 bedded Emergency Room is Mac Arthur. Whatever the situation, he is always composed, smiling and ready to lend a helping hand. I highly admire his skills and attitude at work. He's indeed a role model. He keeps on smiling to his colleagues, patients, as well as the patient's family. He is empathetic, compassionate and is a very competent practitioner in providing exemplary quality care to his patients. Amidst all the chaos he never fails to share his knowledge and in particular, to the "newbies" for them to be well oriented, competent and efficient in their role. I am today the confident, competent nurse because of Mac Arthur "Makki" the team player, supportive colleague, and friend.
Thank you, Mac Arthur, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
