Mackayla Schaetz, RN, BSN
Outstanding. Incredible. Amazing. These words do not even come close to describe how we feel about Mackayla and the care she has provided for our family and daughter. From the first time we met Mackayla, we knew our daughter who was born 10 weeks early was in amazing hands. The way Mackayla worked with our family built great trust. Mackayla has gone above and beyond what is required of her. She takes time to explain what is happening. She guides us in caring for our preemie and she gives over-the-top with the “extras” – photo-shoots, adjusting the NICview camera, providing phone updates, and leaving us notes to put us at ease while we are not at our daughter’s bedside. Mackayla is extraordinary! In fact, I wish there was a word to describe Mackayla that was greater than extraordinary. She’s a true DAISY!
Mackayla has become part of our family, that is how much we trust her with caring for our daughter. I can go home each night and actually sleep when I know that Mackayla is caring for my baby. Being a NICU parent is not easy but with the over-the-top care that Mackayla provides, I can leave and know I do not have to worry. This is all in part of Mackayla’s personality, she is so friendly and easy-going which makes her easy to get along with and build trust.
Mackayla has even left little notes for my mom (baby’s grandma) to help ease her not being able to be at our baby’s bedside. She cares beyond our baby, husband, and me. Mackayla is outstanding!
