In a time when things were so uncertain, Mackenzie was able to provide peace and reassurance.
Mackenzie has been an absolute rockstar for our family. My father was paralyzed, intubated, and sedated in the ICU at Swedish Issaquah. Mackenzie was the first staff member that I encountered in the ICU, and I am beyond fortunate to have her be that person for our family. Upon arriving to the ICU to visit my father, Mackenzie eloquently explained what was happening with my father, had an answer to every question that I had, and if not, knew who would and promptly got an answer. The family dynamics during my father's stay were complex, and Mackenzie navigated them with poise and respect while also ensuring that my father's needs were prioritized throughout the conversation. In a time when things were so uncertain, Mackenzie was able to provide peace and reassurance. Mackenzie not only cared for my father, but cared for me and the emotional rollercoaster that I was going through. Mackenzie showed deep care for our family. When my dad woke up from being intubated and sedated, Mackenzie was one of the first people he saw. She is THE staff member that he remembers. He has even said he wants to change his name to Mackenzie! I cannot thank Mackenzie enough for providing such incredible support, peace, and solace for our family.
