As a retired nurse and home health company owner, I would like to tell you about your incredible nurse, MacKenzie on the 3rd floor at SFMC. I was there as a patient for 5 days with sepsis. I was moved from the ER and was fortunate enough to have her be my primary daily communications, tests, labs, and doctor’s challenges which were difficult at times. I was not an easy patient and she stayed with me all the way. If there is a mentoring, this young woman should be one. Her attitude, happiness, and exemplary care should be recognized and shared with new nurses. She made me feel so relieved, knowing that our profession still has such tremendous people whose hearts are still open. Many thanks for allowing me to be her patient!
