Mackenzie Post, RN

When I met Mackenzie Post, she was caring for my father-in-law. I was blown away by her professional yet calming aura. I have been a registered nurse for many years in critical care, and have experienced first-hand how truly chaotic nursing has become as a profession. Getting an admission at the start of the shift is always a hectic process. Yet Mackenzie truly showed my father and myself that he was her priority and that she was ready to make him feel both welcome and cared for. I believe that in our day and age of nursing in a post COVID world, we must celebrate and recognize nurses with natural leadership that demonstrate excellent nursing skills. She met and addressed all of his needs safely, developed a strong rapport with him and reassured that my father-in-law was in good hands. My father–in-law was sure to tell me in the morning that Mackenzie was one of his favorite nurses yet. He praised her patience and grace by making him feel like he wasn’t a bother. One of the most stressful nights of our lives – but she helped to make it easier and less scary. You’re an amazing nurse Mackenzie, the care that you provide makes a difference and we thank you for it!
