The family had requested to have the patient transferred to another hospital because our surgeon considered the patient a high-risk procedure. The physician called 2 other hospitals to try and get him accepted, but they said no. The family asked Mackenzie Potts if they could keep trying and call other hospitals. She worked with our Patient Advocate and fought so hard for the patient and family.
Unfortunately, the patient was not accepted due to being high-risk. The patient passed away a few days later. Mackenzie showed great compassion for the patient and family. She has an amazing heart and is an extraordinary nurse. I know the family was at peace because they knew she did everything she could to help them.
