Patrick was supposed to have left for the night/day when D was admitted to the ER for a ruptured appendix and Patrick was kind enough to stop and stay to help him with his pain and to help him get as comfortable as possible. He was also assisting other nurses in what seemed to become a more hectic hour in the emergency room that day.
Mackenzie was helping D also and was so incredibly sweet she had such a great personality and we all had good conversation amidst an obviously uncomfortable situation. She was making sure we were safe and informed and kept perfect composure during a lockdown and the family emergency chaos that was happening nearby, especially as such a young nurse. She also shared her hurricane Michael story and experience in her Panama City Hospital and that told us even more that she is an extraordinary person and nurse. We feel so grateful to have had both of them as caregivers the first night we were at Sacred Heart, they are definitely special people.
Patrick also caught and corrected the incorrect temperature reading making a big difference. We thank him for being so thorough and comforting to D. We wish the best to Mackenzie, she's definitely following her passion and is going to make a great nurse! You can tell she loves helping people. She even went out of her way to help me when I was upset, too.
We've had such a terrific experience with all of the people working here. That's not always been our experience at other hospitals, so we thank y'all for that. Everyone who helped care for D was amazing!
Thank You! Thank You! If we ever had another emergency, we'd certainly come to Sacred Heart.
