I came in with an individual I work with who has autism and can't see. Mackenzie did amazing. She was so patient with us and so incredibly kind when we were very frazzled and exhausted. She was patient with us through paperwork issues, behavioral issues, health problems, etc.
He was so grateful for her help, he called her his friend. When all was said and done, Mackenzie took us to an elevator to let him ride on it (one of his favorite things). She even rode with us on it, which made his day much better. She did such an amazing job as a nurse and even better as a human. We don't always get lucky in having people understand us and help when we are caring for an individual with special needs, sometimes people can be rude and less than helpful. Mackenzie though was an absolute rock star.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kindness and patience that you showed. And he thanks you too. He says that he wants to feel better to tell his "nurse friend Mackenzie". Again, thank you so much. Absolutely outstanding nurse.
