Upon my father's first visit to a hospital in 50 years, he was told he had stage 4 cancer. The staff was amazing! Today, 4 weeks later, we came back through the ER due to fluid building up in his abdomen. He was so scared. Upon his first hospital stay (funny story), he enjoyed the chicken stir-fry from the cafeteria so much that it changed his whole attitude. Today, as we sat waiting for the results, my 81-year-old father, who is now very confused, told Madalyn that the chicken stir-fry is his favorite food in the whole world. My dad was nervous, and Madalyn was his angel. She said, "Mr. B, if I can make you feel good today, and chicken stir fry is what will do it, then the pleasure is all mine." He brightened up immediately. It made his scary experience so much better.

However, it truly isn't the food. It was Madalyn's care, kindness, gentleness, and her effort to go above and beyond to make a sick patient feel better. My husband and I have worked in the medical field for 30 years. This is not common and should not be overlooked. Please acknowledge her in the biggest way possible. Kindness is free, but not everyone has it to share. For me, Madalyn's kindness was priceless. My dad is dying and is my rock. To see a smile like this was the best feeling I have had in a long time. Thank you, Jupiter Medical Center, for everything, and thank you, Madalyn, for warming his heart (and belly). We are forever grateful.

Thank you, Madalyn, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
