December 2025 Honoree
Madeleine Murfin-Bond, RN
In my 14 years of working in the medical field, I’ve encountered many dedicated professionals, but rarely someone as passionate, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate as Maddy.
Recently we had a patient who was scheduled to transition to hospice care the following day. Without being asked, Maddy took the beautiful initiative to take the patient outside to feel the sunshine one last time. That simple but profound gesture captured the essence of true nursing, kindness, humanity, and connection.
Her act of compassion left a lasting impression on all of us and, more importantly, brought a moment of peace and joy to someone in their final hours. Kudos to Maddy for her incredible heart and the joy she brings to patient care. She is a shining example of what it means to be a nurse.
