Maddie called the housekeeping supervisor, and even helped to get the room clean so that her patient was out at shift change for staffing purposes.
Maddie is always extremely helpful on the 5th floor. She takes new nurses, float staff, and agency nurses under her wing to help orient them to the unit and helps them out with EVDs and neurospecific care. Tonight she went above and beyond for our unit. She helped me out as clin lead, helped with staffing, helped with patient care, and took excellent care of her patients. When she went to move her patient out to a stepdown room that was marked as clean only to find that the room was completely filthy - full urinals were left - she brought her patient back to the ICU, called the housekeeping supervisor, and even helped to get the room clean so that her patient was out at shift change for staffing purposes. Maddie goes above and beyond always. She is the epitome of a great nurse!
