On Sunday I came to visit my handicapped son, J. This very nice nurse came into my son’s room. Madelon introduced herself and said she is J’s nurse. She explained his condition and treatment to me and let me know if I had any questions or concerns to just ask her and if she couldn’t answer my questions, she would find someone who would help me. Everything I have seen in Madelon’s work is showing me how much she cares about giving quality care to the patient. My son is mentally and physically handicapped but he shows that he likes Madelon. He smiles when she comes into the room. He doesn’t resist when she has to do something to him. There is no doubt that Madelon is a very compassionate and dedicated nurse. Everyone I have spoken to feels the same as I do. My son is non-verbal, but I know he would agree with me that she is TOPS.

I hope if I am ever in the hospital I will be placed on her floor and on her unit. I thank God for the good (excellent) care my son is receiving thus far. I truly wish some others, and especially new RNs, MAs, LPNs, CNAs, and others, will follow Madelon’s example. Their rewards will be plentiful.

I came to visit again today and we are receiving the same wonderful treatment from Madelon. Very professional and yet very caring.
