I came to UC for abdominal pain. I expected it to be a gallbladder issue, but instead found out I have stage 4 cancer. I was very emotional and scared, and so was my husband. Nurse Madhav took the time to speak with us. He told us a story that gave us a different perspective and gave us strength. I am a 35-year-old mother of two children under two. I need to be strong and fight my battle with confidence so I can care for my kids through my journey, and he pushed me in that direction. Madhav went above and beyond for us, and I am very grateful to have had him as my nurse for two days during my stay. He did not make me feel like “just another patient”. He is not only a great nurse, but also a great person.
