I was in awe of Madisen's dedication to ensuring that my wife had a good birth experience given her high level of stress.
It has now been four weeks since my wife had Madisen as her Labor and Delivery nurse and I am still in awe of Madisen and her commitment to her patients. I wanted to take the time to let it sink in that I had a 1-month old before completing this form for Madisen.

In January, my wife was admitted to the Labor and Delivery unit due to a ruptured amniotic sack and we were privileged to be under the care of Madisen. My wife was nervous that the birth of our now son was going to be expedited due to concerns about the health of her and my now son (this is very different from our first childbirth when my wife got to the hospital at 6cm dilated and our daughter was born naturally less than two hours later). Madisen took the time to keep my wife calm which I believe is why the birth of our son was as easy and "least painful" as it could be. Madisen could tell that each time she came in to increase the Pitocin dosage made my wife cringe so she tried to make sure she made my wife know that she was there for her and under her careful watch.

Throughout the night, Madisen kept asking what she could do to make my wife feel better and ease her nerves going into childbirth. As labor intensified and my wife's nerves escalated Madisen spent more time at the bedside of my wife making sure that she knew that she was there to help her. I was in awe of Madisen's dedication to ensuring that my wife had a good birth experience given her high level of stress. It is clear that Madisen had a calling to become a nurse and it is my hope that others are just as lucky as we were to be treated under the care of Madisen. Madisen is a true gem and was the best nurse encounter we had during the birth of our son. Thank you, Madisen!
