Madisen collaborates with ease with an entirely new team made up of employees throughout the organization. She actively seeks out ways she can help and when new tasks are added to her plate, she doesn't hesitate to tackle them head-on.
Madisen Stacks has gone above and beyond for the COVID patient population during the pandemic and is a true DAISY Nurse. Madisen was the first charge nurse in the Tactical Care Unit (TCU) and helped pioneer the bedside nursing efforts in the space. In the early phases of the pandemic, she served as one of the primary resources for all the staff relative to how the nursing team manages these critically ill patients. In the early days of the TCU, to limit additional staff exposure to the space and conserve PPE, her role as a charge nurse expanded to encompass many different jobs. Not only did she perform her normal duties, but she also became the unit supplies stocker, runner for incoming supplies into the space, dietary delivering patient meal trays, cleaner of pumps, and much much more. To this day, she is incredibly dynamic and will cover the responsibilities of the HUC, PCA, transport nurse, procedure nurse, and primary nurse.
Madisen wears many hats! She has done all of this with a great attitude and a smile on her face. Madisen collaborates with ease with an entirely new team made up of employees throughout the organization. She actively seeks out ways she can help and when new tasks are added to her plate, she doesn't hesitate to tackle them head-on. She has created on her own accord a "TCU How-To Guide" for new TCU staff and travelers to make working in the space easier and has made many edits as the space has evolved. Madisen has hosted virtual zoom birthdays for patients and their families, for some patient's it is their last birthday. Additionally, she has been a strong family advocate, coordinating many family visits in a very complex environment. Madisen exemplifies love and compassion in the manner she communicates with patients, family members, and the staff. I am proud and honored to work alongside her during this trying time that is testing us all.
