Life is a series of ordinary moments interspersed by a few extraordinary moments. For us, one of these was when we went into labor to give birth to our first son, B. One of, if not the most important, factors contributing to our experience was the outstanding, super-human care we received from Maddie. From the moment she showed us to our room, all the way to the end of her (extra-long) shift, Maddie treated us with respect, thoughtfulness, and professionalism - taking care of any needs we had, answering our questions, giving us advice and lending a caring ear or hand - nothing was too big or too small. And doing it all with a big smile, and with empathy and excitement for us. We immediately felt comfortable, informed but not judged, and trusting with her. Although it was just another day and another birth for Maddie, for us, it was the most special day of our lives, and we want to specifically thank her for her role in making us, and we're sure many other new parents, feel so well looked after.
