Madison Cannady, BSN, RN, CPN

In August, one of our long-term acute patients celebrated his first birthday. He has been on the unit his entire life and Madison did a wonderful job decorating his room and organizing a card signing for the nursing staff, providers, and ancillary staff. After getting all of this setup, she went above and beyond again by reaching out to the core team, respiratory therapists, and physicians to see if it was possible to take this patient outside. He has never been off the unit, except for surgery, and has never been outside. Through sheer determination, Madison organized all of these people to allow our birthday boy to leave the unit safely and have the best birthday possible. His family was thrilled and loved the time, effort, and experience Madison provided for them on his special day.
