While Madison was floating on her nursing shift to another unit, she went the extra mile for a patient’s mother. Following an assessment of a mother’s behaviors, she started asking questions that led her to find out that she was suffering from post-partum depression. Due to it being the weekend, the OBGYN office was closed and did not have an after-hours voicemail.
Madison attempted to reach them multiple times but with no success. She grew more concerned and knew that she needed to act so she paged our on-call social worker to find a resource for the mother. Her fellow colleagues could tell that she was genuinely concerned for this new mother and really noticed the signs that something was wrong. What an outstanding and true example of how we care for the patients and the family as a whole at Cardinal Glennon.
