I am nominating my nurse for the DAISY Award because of a recent experience I had when I was a patient in the ER at Brodstone Healthcare. I was taken to Brodstone’s Emergency Department after there was a gas leak in my home which caused me to get very sick and disoriented. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for the compassionate care that I received that day and the days following. From the moment I entered the ER, she never left my side. Not only was she very engaged in the duties of her job like IV insertion, but her bedside manner, confidence in her skills, and friendly demeanor calmed me during a time of great stress. I have never been treated with such genuine care and compassion by any healthcare professional before and I’m forever grateful for her.
