September 2024 Honoree
Madison French, BSN, RN
Madi is currently working at the University of Iowa. She recently shared a story with me about how she bonded with the family of a pediatric MVC patient. The accident happened in mid-July, and the patient is about to go to rehab! Madi felt bonded to this family through his recovery and was there to celebrate the milestones of him starting to smile and follow commands again.
The patient's birthday was over the weekend, and they made him a card and took him to the Sky Lounge area in the hospital so he could go outside and see all the family and friends who came by.
He was smiling and giving everyone a thumbs up and waving. Madi felt really lucky to be able to care for this patient throughout his recovery and be able to celebrate the wins and progress he has made in his time there.

Thank you, Madison, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
