Our baby boy made an earlier-than-expected arrival at 36 weeks. We were blessed to have Madison as our night shift nurse for two nights in a row. Staying an extra night in the hospital was less than ideal but knowing Madison would be there to take care of us made it a great experience. Madison embodies all of the qualities that an excellent nurse should have: she is compassionate, caring, and intuitive, and her smiling face coming in to check on us put us all at ease. Madison could sense that I was not getting enough sleep and she offered to take care of M for a couple of hours both nights to give my husband and me time to recharge. Madison was knowledgeable about milestones that M needed to hit as a late pre-term infant, she always updated us regularly on our treatment plans, and anticipated my needs as a mother and patient before I even had to ask! The first night we stayed was a very busy night for the staff and Madison didn't skip a beat and always kept a positive attitude. Y'all are lucky to have such a wonderful nurse as a part of your team. The whole staff, including the L&D nurses, registration, anesthesiologist, techs, lactation consultants, and physicians were all top-notch and made our experience at East Cooper one that we will continue to rave about. We are so very grateful for Madison and we would love to see her hard work be recognized.
