This was my first hospitalization. I was very apprehensive about staying overnight at a hospital. I arrived on 5th floor after completion of my surgery. After vomiting en route to the 5th floor and feeling quite helpless, I met my Nurse Madison Hansen.
She was everything a person could want in a nurse. She was compassionate, caring, and efficient. I was cared for in every sense of that word. I never had a feeling of being a nuisance or a burden. Very simply, she was kind. I had the feeling she genuinely cared about how I was feeling. My vomit was taken from me and I didn't feel humiliated at being so messy. She tended to my pain as well as my wounded pride. She was the gift of a true healer! My stay would not have been so wonderful without her care.
