Madison Marple, RN

The five core values of all BayCare nurses are trust, responsibility, dignity, respect, and excellence. A DAISY Nurse encompasses these values and imparts a high level of compassion and empathy. Madison is a true example of a nurse who cares deeply for the well-being of her patients and treats all patients as if they are her own family member. The unit recently had a patient who suffered the tragic loss of her baby girl at 35 weeks gestation. The patient was understandably going through the stages of grief. Madison treated this patient with a level of loving care that was unparalleled. She called the Winter Haven Women’s Hospital and asked for ideas to help support her patient after suffering such a great loss. She went to the gift shop and purchased a stuffed giraffe and bought the patient lunch for the day. Madison presented the giraffe with a memory box provided by the WHWH. This was a small gesture that spoke volumes of the level of compassion that she has for her patients. Madison provided comfort to the patient and her husband. Madison's level of compassion and empathy for this patient is the truest definition of humanity at work.
