As a recent patient in the intensive care unit at SGMC, I wanted to write the greatest commendation I could for Madison after she cared for me through my first night there. I was suffering from heart issues and a very serious bleed. She stayed glued to those monitors and worked very hard to take care of problems as they arose - the medical problems and any other problems I had. I was impressed with her ability to focus on her job and do it well. It was a rough night for her and me! I know it's expected of nurses who work in intensive care to be the best that they can be, but Madison went way beyond those expectations in taking care of me during a possibly deadly situation. When she was troubled by something medical, she called the doctor and got him to the room. On the opposite end of the spectrum, when she saw me in trouble in the most personal way possible, she humbled (and I genuinely mean humbled) herself to help me. She is an extraordinary young woman and nurse - a highly qualified one with a big heart.
