Mae is a great team player on our Observation Unit! She takes admission without complaints. She is a strong advocate in patient placement. Patients and families always state how kind and compassionate she is. She works extra shifts and always is trying to better herself by becoming a preceptor and a leader on the unit.

I feel privileged to work alongside such a wonderful nurse. Mae is the kind of nurse whose presence has a calming effect on those around her. She is always composed, even when she is dealing with difficult situations. She instills confidence in her patients and make them feel comfortable even when they are scared or nervous. Her quiet confidence is admirable and her work reflects it. She is working to expand her knowledge base. She recently took the OCN review course and is now studying to achieve her OCN certification. She is a great resource to all of our nurses who administer chemotherapy. Her patients always feel comfortable as she does a great job with teaching about side effects and what to expect during the course of treatment. Not only is she an excellent teacher to patients, she is also great with her co-workers. She often precepts new nurses and works well with students.

Mae is a model of a DAISY nurse. She has a strong commitment to excellence in patient safety and care. She is devoted to her hospital and co-workers. I have often seen her go above and beyond to satisfy her patients' needs. I have learned many things from her and have watched her teach others as well.
