Gigi (Magali) had a patient who was depressed and withdrawn. It got to the point where he wouldn't even eat and didn't want to be bothered. But Gigi's concerns for her patient were mounting and after spending some time sitting and talking with him, she discovered that he had been craving a cherry slushie. She wasn't sure where she was going to find one in the early hours of the evening until she remembered the unit carried cherry popsicles. Using several popsicles, she got creative and made her patient a genuine homemade cherry slushie with her own two hands. Her kindness brought a smile to the patient's face and he was thrilled to have his craving met. Thanks to her resourcefulness, passion, empathy, love, and selflessness with this simple gesture she made the day brighter for this down and out patient who did nothing but smile the rest of the day. His stay was all that much a better experience due to her creativity.
