Maggie sat with me; she asked me how I felt and if there was any way she could help, even more than she already was
Our Mom was sent to the hospital from a local nursing room. When we got to the hospital, my mom was in the ICU, where we first met my Mom's nurse, Maggie. She asked us all the right questions, which helped us realize that something in her recent prior care was not handled correctly. We were in shock at how fast she had changed in just two weeks. Maggie was clear in saying she could not speak on behalf of the care home, as much as we wanted answers at the moment. She was understanding and helped us understand that they are a different agency. She also listened to all my concerns.

Maggie gave my mom, in her incoherent state, much attention. She still spoke to my mom as an average, coherent adult. My mom was in need of much assistance in the ICU when she couldn't eat or had an accident. Maggie was on top of it. She did everything she could for her the 18 hours a day we were there with her. But I loved how it felt like teamwork with Maggie. As opposed to a nurse "knows all" kind of relationship. Though, of course, nurses know the medical world more than me. Maggie really listened to me and gave me the correct information with a warm heart. After speaking with the doctor and being told how short of time it seemed my mom had left, which was not long, I got back to the room, and Maggie sat with me; she asked me how I felt and if there was any way she could help, even more than she already was. Maggie from the ICU is amazing!
