December 2025 Honoree
Magdalena Sromecka
My dad was a patient on Swithland Ward. From the moment Dad was admitted, Magda was a ray of sunshine. She took exceptional care of my dad, but also us as a family. Nothing was ever too much; she was extremely well informed regarding Dad’s care and the plan.
She supported Dad with kindness, compassion, and dignity. She advocated rigorously for him and ensured his wishes were heard. She cared for us as a family. When things got too much, or we were distressed due to the strain of dad’s condition, she was there with a hug, or a kind word, or telling us we could do this.
She is motivational, and her drive for exceptional care is contagious. I wish I could replicate Magda and have a Magda everywhere, as the world definitely needs more Magdas looking after them and their relatives.

Thank you, Magdalena, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
