Maggie prays for her patients and is genuinely concerned for their welfare. Maggie is, simply put, a stellar person, co-worker, and employee.
Maggie has taken care of multiple members of my family when coming into the ER. Most recently my father who passed. Maggie showed compassion and empathy beyond what most nurses I’ve encountered have. She was knowledgeable in her skill set and able to explain events as they were unfolding, even when the outcome was grim. Maggie had the ability to deliver news and plans for care with love and understanding for our situation. I was so thankful to have her as my father's nurse in his last days.

After hours - walked me through the maze from ER to the front.

Maggie is an exceptional nurse. She is very dedicated and extremely caring. This is noted by the genuine concern on her face for her patients. Maggie advocates for her patients who do not know where to turn next. She takes the time to listen to her patients and knows details that are integral to their care but would not otherwise be known other than listening intently or asking just the right questions. She has taken care of many of my friends and they all state that she shows great compassion and caring toward her patients.

She also is there as a helping hand with her colleagues when there are many stressors within the healthcare system. One can note that she is thanked multiple times throughout the time that she is there due to her willingness to assist in any capacity she is needed.

Nursing is very complex in this day in time. Nursing in the Emergency Room encompasses many tasks that are not the norm within the nursing field. And it has to be done instantaneously. No thinking. No planning. Just reaction. That reaction is how you know you have a great nurse. The demeanor in which that reaction is handled is how you know you have a great nurse. Compassion is key. Without it and a listening ear, you are simply performing tasks for a paycheck. Nursing is daunting in the best circumstances. Our patients are on our minds, in our hearts, and in our prayers as sometimes it’s difficult to get them out of our thoughts. Maggie prays for her patients and is genuinely concerned for their welfare. Maggie is, simply put, a stellar person, co-worker, and employee.

The entire way Maggie handled my father's situation was comforting. I never felt as though she or the other staff were unsure of what to do in caring for him. If all nurses could be as kind and empathetic in their delivery of horrible news to families as Maggie was/is the healthcare system would be an amazing place. We need more nurses with bedside manner like hers.
