This is the third time my sweet boy has been admitted to the hospital in three months. Each time we come, Maggie takes amazing care of us. My son is four months old, and although he is the patient, she continuously takes care of me, too. She took her time to teach me the NG tube system in preparation for discharge. She continuously advocated for my son with doctors, dietary, the milk room and the formula room. She made my little boy smile over and over. She found time to take him on a wagon ride. She treated us like family on each and every day. Without Maggie, my son would not be where he is today, and I would have struggled so much more. She is so deserving of this award and I am so incredibly thankful to have Maggie care for us during our time at CHKD.

Maggie’s compassion and calm demeanor helped reassure my wife and me during a very stressful time. We couldn’t both stay, as we have two other children, and I felt better knowing my wife would be taken care of when I wasn’t able to be there. We were treated as human beings, and not like numbers.
