October 2020 Honoree
Maggie E Jordan, BSN, RN
As a nurse, my expectations of a nurse and nursing care are very high. I have been a patient for 5 days. While I was there she gave more than excellent care. She was exceptional. She checked on me regularly. I never had to use my call light to get her. It was as if she anticipated my needs. There were several times that my pain was so bad that I almost had an anxiety attack. She stood beside me and taught me slow breathing exercises that calmed me down and in some cases reduced my pain.
She called the Dr. and they worked together to find a drug combination that worked. She was my encourager, my cheerleader, my comforter, and my nurse extraordinary.
She made my day when I was feeling bad and laughed with me and helped me see the positive things going on around me. She most definitely has earned the DAISY Award in my books.

Thank you, Maggie E, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
