Maggie serves as a daily team leader in Ambulatory Care and is frequently cited by peers, surgeons, other departments and patients in follow-up phone calls for her calm approach, compassion and sense of humor. She's able to initiate and participate in crucial conversations and will often preface it with "now let's think about this" Having been a school teacher before becoming a nurse, she brings that unique skill set and insight to her practice. Her sense of inquiry lends to: actively serving as the Professional Practice council chair, recipient of the Palmetto Gold and the BSSF Sacred Cow for NG verification practices and the recent completion of her BSN.
She serves as a mentor for new and novice registered and unlicensed staff. She demonstrates initiative when addressing unit or service line opportunities. She models stewardship through coordinating the unit schedule, staffing and floating to other units in time of need. She attended the 2011 ANCC Magnet conference and as a result implemented the BSSF Leader Reader. She serves on the RSFH Employer of Choice team and as the unit TUW ambassador for the past three years.
Maggie models healing through her compassion, attention to excellence and humor.
