I am a very busy ostomy nurse and scheduled an outpatient surgery understanding that I may be able to return to work that day to educate a new, confused ostomate patient who counted on me to spend quality time with him as promised. He was scared to death and was scheduled for surgery the same day as my own. Maggie helped me through my recovery/postop and verified that I was not going to be able to visit my patient that day. She went the extra mile for me when she saw how upset I was and offered to go see my patient following her shift to comfort him and start his ostomy education. She let him know how concerned I was about him and he was accepting of her and forgiving and understanding of my absence. Thank you, Maggie!
