Maggie Maguire, NP

Running into the ER with my limp baby, begging for help. Maggie was there, along with everyone else. In a complete mess, not being with G, Maggie was there again. Maggie helped work effortlessly to save our baby; I have no doubt. Knowing Maggie was there rubbing his hair, talking to him, and telling him that his mommy loves him brings me comfort, even almost a year later. To know not only was Maggie there as a nurse, but Maggie was there as a mama.

Knowing Maggie is a mama, it brings me more comfort to know the love and prayers were from her heart. In a time when I couldn’t be there, Maggie was. Maggie continues to be here. She stays in touch and supports all things G related. I can never imagine the trauma and heartache Maggie went through that night and still does. My heart aches knowing she was placed in that role, but I know God put her there because He knew G needed a mother’s touch and comfort. Although God saw fit for G to go home to heaven, that night we still had a blessing, and that was Maggie. There is no other person I believe deserves this DAISY Award more than this. Maggie is the perfect example of a nurse. Upson County and my family are blessed beyond measure. When I pray, I thank God twice for Maggie.
