I am compelled to nominate Maggie for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional nursing care, compassion, and dedication to her patients.
Though she may be small in stature, Maggie’s impact on patient care is immense. Her empathy, kindness, and professionalism made a lasting and memorable difference during my hospitalization. Despite the challenges I faced, including insurance issues and discharge delays, Maggie’s presence brightened every day and offered much-needed support. Maggie’s passion for patient well-being shines through in every interaction. She treats each patient as an individual, and she went the extra mile to ensure my comfort. You can tell Maggie leads by example, inspiring her colleagues with her kindness, work ethic, and ability to manage even the most stressful situations gracefully. Sometimes, I would hear people screaming and being disrespectful, but that didn’t keep Maggie down! She still came into my room with a smile on her face and easily put a smile on mine! Maggie’s clinical skills are exceptional, but it’s her emotional intelligence and ability to connect with patients that truly set her apart.
When I learned I would be transferred to the TCU, I felt a sense of hopelessness due to ongoing insurance issues. But Maggie’s warm smile and reassuring demeanor made all the difference every time I saw her. Despite the visible and sometimes audible pressures she was facing, she consistently went above and beyond to make me feel supported and at ease.
