Maggie has a tremendous amount of compassion for her patients
Maggie Stevens had a patient that was vented and his daughters made the choice to terminally wean him. The daughters requested that the patient's dog come in so that he could say goodbye to his human. When the dog arrived the daughters were too afraid to place him in the bed. Maggie picked up the dog and placed him in the bed with the patient. She also picked up the patient's hand and placed it on the dog. The dog started to snuggle with the patient. This was extremely heart-touching by the other nurses working with Maggie. Maggie has a tremendous amount of compassion for her patients and this day was no different. The daughters showed comforting relief afterward. With that said this seemed like a healing moment for the family as everyone was able to say goodbye, including the dog.
