Through 44 hours of labor and multiple rounds of medication, Maggie went above and beyond to provide as much comfort as possible during the worst situation imaginable.
M went to a growth scan in Charlotte at MFM. It was discovered that O had no heartbeat at 27 weeks of gestation. M was sent to Atrium Cleveland in Shelby to deliver. Maggie was the primary nurse each night. Through 44 hours of labor and multiple rounds of medication, Maggie went above and beyond to provide as much comfort as possible during the worst situation imaginable. Her response was quick every time something was needed, no matter how minor. She made sure that M was fully cared for, emotionally and physically, and kept her grounded throughout the process. She answered all questions thoroughly and honestly and was extremely knowledgeable and direct while maintaining the level of empathy needed in those moments. After 44 hours, it was decided to perform a C-section. Maggie’s amazing care continued after the C-Section as well. M received exceptional care from all of the nurses and doctors in L&D at Cleveland, but Maggie stood out as a calm, grounded voice throughout the process. If not for Maggie, this would have been more painful than it already was. The care here most likely saved M’s life as well as she had a severe Vitamin K deficiency that proved extremely difficult to manage.
