Maggie Thorness is a bright and shining light to everyone she meets. Her contagious smile and warm kindness are comforting in even the hardest of days. Maggie cared for our boys while they were in the NICU. Born at 24-weeks-old, they had a mountain of obstacles in front of them. Many of our days were difficult, and it was often so hard to leave the boys to go eat, sleep or run an errand. Maggie made us feel so safe. She genuinely loved our boys and they received such amazing care from her.
When our son had to be flown to Seattle Children's, Maggie stayed in close contact with us, checking in on our family health as a whole. She radiates love and support. Any patient who has her as a nurse knows that they are in for a great 12 hours. She connects so well with every family that she meets, but she has gone above and beyond when it comes to us.
Our son's medical struggle has continued throughout the past 19 months, and Maggie has been there to lend a hand, be a shoulder to cry on, help with my other two kids so I can attend procedures with my son, laugh at our own, sometimes inappropriately morbid humor, and just be a constant support. I can honestly say that Maggie has been a huge part of helping us to be able to continue as well as we have with our sick son. She's our #1 support and #1 friend. She is simply the best person I know. Maggie, we adore you! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
