Maggie Veldman is truly one in a million. I have been a nurse for 28 years and she blew me away with not only her compassion and great care for my husband, but also for my 9-year-old son. My husband was on 10s for a few weeks until he finally passed away. Maggie went above and beyond with my son, making sure he got some sweet treats or a slice of pizza while waiting. After my husband passed away, my son received a note in our mailbox from Advent Angel. For 25 days there were sweet treats, books, cancer pins, and even a pizza delivered to our house. All the time we were unaware of the fact that Maggie was the Advent Angel. To have someone so thoughtful to think of my son during this horrible time was just amazing. Maggie finally let me in on the secret and my son still doesn't know who the Advent Angel is. I am beyond blessed that my husband had such amazing care by Maggie. I'm blown away at Maggie's extraordinary care and compassion she has shown my son. Heaven gained an angel when my husband died, but heaven gave us Maggie here on earth as my angel. Thank you!
