From the moment we arrived, Magy went above and beyond to make our experience as comfortable and dignified as possible.
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for Magy, a 22-year-old RN who cared for my 87-year-old mother during a recent hospital stay. My mother has dementia, and while she can still communicate at times, her condition makes consistency and compassion absolutely essential. Magy was assigned to her for three consecutive days, working 12-hour shifts each day, and I cannot overstate how much that continuity meant to us.
From the moment we arrived, Magy went above and beyond to make our experience as comfortable and dignified as possible. She noticed that I was staying overnight with my mother and took it upon herself to replace the small reclining chair in the room with a larger one so I could rest more easily. That simple act of kindness set the tone for everything that followed.
Magy showed extraordinary patience and empathy toward my mother, who often asked confusing or outlandish questions and spoke of loved ones who had long passed. Magy never dismissed her. She listened, responded gently, and treated her with unwavering respect. Her slow, calm approach helped soothe my mother’s anxiety, and I could step out for meals knowing she was in the best possible hands.
Her attentiveness extended to every patient. Each time she was paged, she responded immediately, never hesitating to offer help. Her professionalism was matched only by her warmth.
When it came time for discharge, Magy helped me load my mother into the car, an act that brought tears to both of us. My mother had grown so attached to her that saying goodbye felt like leaving family. We gave her a big hug when we left, but it still doesn’t feel like enough. Magy is a rare gem in healthcare.
Magy turned a difficult situation into a deeply human experience, and she demonstrated exceptional care.
