I am nominating Maika, not because of a specific incident, but because of how she cares for every patient every day she works. This nurse goes above and beyond any nurse I have ever known, working in healthcare for 23 years. She takes care of their needs in every way, including doing the aid's job for her patients. She is kind and compassionate to every person she encounters. This nurse does not sit down during her entire 12-hour shift. I hope you award Maika Pearson the DAISY Award because, in my opinion, there has never been a nurse as deserving of this award or one who shows more what a true nurse should be.

Maika is the hardest worker I know. She truly cares about her patients and their outcomes. She never takes a break or sits down. If I ever have a question, she is always willing to answer it for me or help me find the answer. She is always willing to help and is a great team player.
