September 2019 Honoree
maike sgrignuoli, BSN, RN, CCRN, PCCN
Maike was recognized by a patient's family, who had glowing words to say about the care Maike provided for the family and their mother. Not only did she expertly narrate care so that the family understood about new medications, but she also delivered pep talks that made the patient feel better. "She was a joy to have as a nurse," the patient wrote, "always a ray of sunshine when she walked into the room."
The patient's family echoed that and added: "She didn't allow Mom to say 'It doesn't matter'. She encouraged Mom to tell us what she wanted. She listened to Mom's likes and dislikes and remembered them. She made Mom's long hospital stay more enjoyable."

Thank you, Maike, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
