Makayla is awesome!
Our family was blessed to have Makayla as a nurse while our mother was in the ICU. We knew immediately that her number one priority was our mother, the patient, and our family as well. She made sure we understood the medications she was being given, encouraged and answered all of our questions, and explained the effects of surgery in addition to dementia, which often caused our mother to become very agitated at times.
She treated our mother with such kindness and compassion, sitting by her bedside, holding her hand, and playing soothing music to help calm her. She remained professional, calm, and caring through every interaction.
She also recognized when our mother needed fewer visitors and more quiet time, always advocating for what was in our mother's best interest. We truly appreciated her honesty, dedication, and commitment to meeting not only our mother's needs but our family's unspoken needs as well.
