Makayla Potthoff, RN, BSN

I would like to share a couple of instances with a nurse. In September, my husband was admitted to Loring. Makayla made sure everything was taken care of before she left for the night. Then, she was on duty the next day, his condition gradually got worse, and by noon, he was very sick. The doctor was called and the decision was made to transfer him. Makayla never left him, and he was getting worse. There were others in his room, but I didn’t know them. They worked as a team and never gave up on him. He was life-flighted to St. Luke’s. He is alive today because of their love and dedication to their job. Then, a couple of weeks later, he was admitted to Loring again. Makayla was his nurse again. She worked with us in the ER and then in his room. She kept us informed about what was going on. Before she left for the night, she made sure he was taken care of and said she would be back in the morning. She showed us her love and dedication both times we were there. She is your friend whenever she sees you. She is a great nurse and has a great future ahead of her. The entire Loring team was awesome both times we were there, and the food was very good too.
